In the heart of historic Fells Point, State transformed a building that had housed bars and clubs for the better part of a century into Baltimore’s most talked-about nightlife destination. The work began where nobody sees it: State cut into the original early-1900s floor joists and re-supported the structure with reinforced concrete, engineering the strength the new design demanded out of a century-old frame. That structural work made the showpiece possible—a sunken runway walkway lit with LED and set against a mirrored floor, throwing light and reflection through the room to create the space’s signature atmosphere. Across both floors, State delivered extensive electrical work and a dedicated ventilation system built to handle the venue’s sound equipment. Working hand in hand with the owner’s creative vision, State solved the structural problem and then built the thing everyone came to see.
